Job Description:

As an integral member of a small, collaborative team focused on building our next generation of engine diagnostic software, you will use your research and engineering expertise to evaluate electrical systems and components in order to create simulated engine and sensor failure models that will be used to train and test diagnostic software. In addition to electrical engineering experience, the qualified applicant will have engine/diagnostics knowledge, statistics knowledge, and an interest in artificial intelligence (AI).

This position will be based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confirms electrical systems and components failures

  • When necessary, develop add-on sensors that may be used to collect diagnostic data

  • With knowledge gained from conducting interviews with field technicians about engine failure symptoms, develops electrical component simulations for duplicating failures in a controlled environment

  • Collaborates with team to prioritize diagnostic and repair processes that will benefit from machine intelligence

  • Collaborates with team to develop failure probability metrics

  • Builds test fixtures that will record known-good and known-bad engine sensor values

  • Work with various consultants to ensure our processes are evolving along with other industries

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline; Master's preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language

  • 5 years working for an advanced manufacturing company

  • 3 years of engine experience

  • 2 years of applied statistics experience

  • 1 year of wireless technology design experience
