Provide overall technical support between global service teams and the product design organization. Address and resolve escalated quality and design issues. Assist in design for serviceability of new products. Bridge all fitness and technology product platforms.
Participate on new product development teams. Ensure service issues, lessons learn, and historic quality concerns are brought to the attention of development teams during new product development.
Act as an engineering liaison between all global service and product teams to assess, elevate, promote, and assign quality issues using workflow structured systems. Primary focus on quality and overall customer satisfaction for all commercial and consumer fitness products worldwide.
Assist with analysis and evaluation of reported issues. Identify potential safety concerns, quality anomalies and assist product development teams in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and implementation of changes.
Manage and assemble subject matter experts for the failure analysis projects that spinoff from reported field issues.
Provide additional field support as needed by:
Review field issue submissions. Assign to appropriate team member for resolution.
Create engineering resource requests for any significant field issues, or as requested.
Contribute to investigation and follow through of logged quality issues
Assisting Call Center or Tech4 team with escalated problem to develop special or unknown solutions.
Running weekly regional (global) call to review mechanical, electrical and software issues with Life Fitness technicians
Create, review and post Service Bulletins ensuring solutions developed for various issues are properly communicated.
Provide additional documentation support as needed by:
Ensuring service support documentation is created for new products. Work with Program managers and the Documentation team to ensure this commitment is fulfilled by individual team members.
Parts Manuals with creation of SBOMs for parts website if required.
New or updated products training materials.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Cross discipline technical knowledge (mechanical, electrical, software)
Experience using Oracle database or equivalent ERP system.
Experience with workflow tracking systems.
Oracle reporting/analysis tools (OBI), Dataload, or equivalent is desired.
Experience using MS Office: Project, Excel, Word, Visio.
Ability to think analytically and problem solve.
Excellent organizational and project planning skills.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Ability to multitask, handling multiple simultaneous programs and priorities.
Bachelor’s degree, in a technical discipline.
2+ years of field engineering or technical customer support experience
