Welds and assembles metal components for boat seating utilizing TIG welding.
Will assist with metal fab work as needed.
Welds and assembles metal components for boat seating.
Employee must be able to:
Obtain parts and materials. Use disc grinder to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to welding. Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing
metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece.
Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead. Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding). Examine weld for bead size and other specifications. Grind or clean weld joint of work piece. Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes. Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a jig fixture. Tack assemblies together. Fabricate new or replacement parts boat seating. Assemble component parts using hand and small power tools. May change hoses, fittings, air valves, suspension parts, etc. Clean up work area daily. Other duties as assigned. Assist with metal work as needed. Willing to work 40 + hours and overtime as needed, M-F and Saturday.
Education Requirements (special training, college degree, etc.)
Must be a Certified Welder.
HS Diploma or GED, College Certification or two-year degree a plus.
5 years aluminum TIG welding.
Fabrications with welding and layout.
Skill Requirements (Technical, Communication, Interpersonal, etc.)
Communicate effectively and professionally with fellow team members and supervisor.
Understand and apply welding techniques; work quickly and skillfully with hands.
Accept responsibility for the work performed.
Visualize what the finished product should look like.
Operate welding equipment with skill.
Be able to read blueprints.
Must possess a team player mindset.
Must be a self-starter, able to work with limited supervision.
Able to work within a parameter of a short deadline.
Creative problem-solving ability.
Work Environment (travel, shift, lifting requirements, hazardous conditions, etc.)
No travel required.
Must use proper PPE and follow all safety guidelines and regulations.
Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
Must be able to bend, reach above head and lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in a semi-enclosed environment with hot conditions.
