This maintenance position is an opportunity for a highly motivated person who has the ability to drive manufacturing performance through the maintenance of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. The position will report within the Lowell, MI facility on 1st shift as a Maintenance Technician I.

**Please note: during the training period, the position will be an 8 hour shift Monday through Friday. Early next year, the position will be either Tuesday through Saturday with an 8 hour shift or Wednesday through Saturday with a 10 hour shift. Saturdays will be considered regular working hours.

Primary responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Critically review each machine and device in an effort to uncover and address operator safety risks. Upgrade and maintain equipment safety guards and other necessary safety devices

  • Provide urgent and thorough response to all repair requests

  • Execute and improve Attwood Total Preventive Maintenance Program

  • Support repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

  • Provide improvement feedback for PM content and frequency. Record all performed work through the CMMS

  • Trouble-shoot and repair of all malfunctioning manufacturing and facility equipment.

  • Inventory and order all replaceable machine components

  • Support repair and PM work with outside vendors as needed

  • Execute and support efforts to poke-yoke, and repair equipment / fixtures for manufacturing and distribution operations when needed

  • Support product launches, including fixture and cell design consultation and provide ongoing support.

  • Report out regularly on status of open projects

  • Participate in continuous training opportunities

  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Industrial Maintenance Certificate or equivalent is preferred

  • 1+ years prior electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems work experience or combination of education and training preferred

  • Successful candidates will have knowledge of sensor technology (i.e. Photoelectric, Limit, Vision, Color…) and an understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  • Experience with and commitment to lockout/tag out, confined space, elevated surfaces, hot work permits, and other industrial maintenance safety programs

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and written

  • Knowledge of Lean Mfg. is desired

  • Prior industrial truck / lift truck experience is required

  • Experience with MS Office

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Software preferred
