Brunswick’s Integrated Manufacturing Center (BIMC), located in Merritt Island, Florida, supports the growth and development of Sea Ray, Boston Whaler and other Brunswick boat brands. This location, formally a Sea Ray Sport Yacht and Yacht facility, centralizes Brunswick’s vertical integration capabilities to deliver efficient, cost effective capacity and productivity planning to the Brunswick boat brands.

Job Description

Group Lead tasks include oversight of department or areas, participating in day to day assembly job duties, and assisting the supervisor in a wide range of departmental reporting.


  • Leads the work of a group of employees in a department such as lamination, assembly, quality control, maintenance, or woodworking.

  • Keeps time cards in order and overtime down.

  • Oversees department inspections and organizes daily work schedules.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • High School Degree or GED

  • 2- 3 years of boat building experience preferred

  • Ability to adjust labor accordingly

  • Ability to audit departmental work areas

  • Ability to identify Short Stocks and report them

  • Ability to read and understand prints

  • Ability to read and understand Production Schedule

  • Must be able to work in a hot and dusty environment

  • Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and disposal

  • Understanding of Special Instructions

  • Working knowledge of Procedures , instructions, and documents as it relates to the quality system

Additional Requirements:

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Must be able to train current and new employees on the tasks required to get complete the job

  • Proven Leadership Qualities, including positive attitude, good attendance and promotion of good morale.

  • Must be able to adapt to changing requirements in a positive and proactive way

  • Must be able to Multi-Task

  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels within the organization

  • Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business.

Safety Requirements:

  • Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately

  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies

  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.

  • Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test and physically wear a respirator where required

  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, spending working hours on your feet, etc.

  • Must be able to understand all safety related document and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.
