Office of the CIO

The Office of the CIO is the back office of IT that includes IT Asset Management (ITAM), IT Vendor Management Office, Project Management Office, Strategy, and is essential for ensuring strong, frictionless IT customer engagement for the broader organization, as the Office of the CIO acts as the process owner for much of our project and product demand management processes.

What You'll Do

The Sr. Manager, IT VMO will

Strategy and Governance:

  • Establish the foundation of the Vendor Management Organization (VMO) by developing comprehensive policies and procedures for vendor selection, evaluation, and management processes

  • Partner with Brunswick IT Leadership to set a comprehensive vendor management strategy aligned with Brunswick’s business objectives and IT goals

  • Define and manage the IT Vendor Ecosystem, including Strategic, Enterprise, and Regional vendors

  • Maintain standardized vendor management policies, processes, and procedures

  • Define vendor evaluation criteria and lead the evaluation and selection of vendors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices

  • Monitor vendor performance and conduct regular vendor performance reviews to identify areas of improvement and ensure adherence to contractual obligations

Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor communications, escalations, and dispute resolution

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key vendors to drive collaboration, innovation, and value creation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage vendor relationships and ensure effective communication and coordination of activities

  • Conduct vendor audits and assessments to validate contract compliance and service delivery

Contract Management:

  • Lead the negotiation, drafting, and review of vendor contracts and agreements, working closely with legal, procurement, and finance teams

  • Ensure all vendor contracts are aligned with Brunswick's legal and regulatory requirements

  • Monitor contract expiration dates and proactively manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations

  • Develop and maintain a centralized repository of vendor contracts, documentation, and related information

Performance and Metrics:

  • Maintain, enhance, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure vendor performance and service levels

  • Analyze vendor performance data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities

  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards for stakeholders, highlighting vendor performance, risks, and insights

Team Leadership:

  • Coaches and develops high-performing teams

  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and dispute resolution skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Knowledge

The Sr. Manager, IT VMO must have in-depth knowledge and experience of the following:

  • Strong IT category management, strategic sourcing, and general procurement

  • Policy, process, and procedure development and implementation

  • Experience of global outsourcing at highest level

  • Engagement with sourcing, procurement, ITAM, legal, tax, and accountancy advisors for additional information

  • Data processing, analysis and quality management tools

Additionally, an understanding of IT business continuity, cybersecurity, and integrated risk management and optimization methodologies is highly desirable, along with knowledge of IT management.

Experience

The following experience is considered essential:

  • A management role, including engagement with sourcing, procurement, business stakeholders and frontline operational IT staff

  • Strong IT category management, strategic sourcing, and general procurement background

  • Experience with implementing executive-level reporting and dashboards

  • 10 years of IT experience with 7 years in vendor management and/or procurement experience and at least 5 years in a leadership role

  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and implement process improvements

  • Familiarity with IT systems, technologies, and infrastructure

The following experience is considered desirable:

  • Experience with ServiceNow

Education and Training

  • An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in finance, IT, engineering, business management or a related field or equivalent experience
