Provides professional Human Resources guidance and support with the objective to add value to the business: Executes and administers Human Resources programs in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, benefits, training/development and performance management; Streamlines and standardizes HR policies and practices; Helps support the HR department in effectively managing human capital; May be assigned primary responsibility for specific HR programming or specific functional activities but generally works under the direction or guidance of the Director, Human Resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as associate advocate, internal consultant and business partner with management to address human resources issues impacting the performance of the manufacturing operations and all support functions.

  • Administers policies, makes decisions, and responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.

  • Development and implementation of a facility wide Communication Plan that provides consistent, sustainable communications to the organization.

  • Conduct investigations of all types and present recommendations to resolve to management team. Investigations include, but are not limited to, workplace threats, harassment and discrimination, violation of rules, theft, personality conflicts and safety issues.

  • Develops, conducts and coordinates training programs for the plant leadership team. Liaison with corporate and external training resources as needed to provide necessary to provide organizational development.

  • Responsibility for worker’s compensation management and return to work program.

  • Manages hourly performance evaluation process and bonus programs.

  • Partners with Talent Acquisition Team to drive recruitment strategies for hourly and salaried talent.

  • Compiles data and manages annual Affirmative Action Program ensuring goals and progress to goals.

  • Develops and implements Positive Employee Relations strategies that focus on the attraction, development and retention of talent without the need of third party representation (union avoidance).

  • Leads change management efforts to ensure robust communication and training plans for all changes.

  • Leads special projects to support business growth and initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or acceptable equivalent required. PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 4 years Human Resources Generalist experience in manufacturing required. Larger facility experience (400 or greater) preferred.

  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite required; HRIS systems and Kronos a plus.

  • Ability to analyze data and present concise message to the business required.

  • Must have demonstrated understanding of employment laws and benefits.

  • Strong communication skills, including written, oral, listening and presentation/facilitation to both small and large groups.

  • Effective leadership and management skills to motivate employees, build relationships and drive initiatives throughout the facility.

  • Demonstrated experience independently managing employee relations situations.

  • Ability to work as an effective team player.

  • Provide effective associate communications through a variety of methods.

  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business.
